SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION THROUGH LOVE OF OUR NEIGHBOURS

We are currently running an ongoing program called Empowered Faith Communities, which operates from the local Neighbourhood House. The purpose of this program is to provide meals, friendship and community to those who are isolated or doing life tough.

Our St Vincent de Paul group also conduct regular visitations to those experiencing financial difficulty, providing them with practical and financial assistance where possible.

INVESTING IN THE EMERGING GENERATIONS

Youth and Young Adults
We are passionate about supporting our young ones to develop a personal connection with God, and to learn how to follow Jesus in their daily lives. Through your support we are able to provide environments that nurture children of all ages through the following ministries:
-          Mainly Music (bubs)
-          Little Sprouts (kids church on Sundays)
-          Luke 8 (year 5-8)
-          iStand (year 9-12)

We also have a ministry designed for young adults, ages 18-30 years.

CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY

Sunday Services
Our Sunday services continue to draw together people from across Melbourne, and from a range of ages, cultures and demographics. Our Livestream Masses (offered six days a week) also gather thousands of people from across the globe.

People talk about our Sunday Masses as a life-changing source of healing, inspiration and spiritual nourishment.

Alpha at St Ben’s
St Ben’s continues to run multiple Alpha courses each year, which draw people who are exploring faith, meaning and purpose, from all around Melbourne. Alpha provide a welcoming, non-judgmental environment where anyone can make new connections, explore the person of Jesus, and take steps of faith. Many have been impacted through our Alpha courses over the year.

PROVIDING SPIRITUAL NOURISHMENT FOR PEOPLE ON ALL STAGES OF THE FAITH JOURNEY

Formation Courses
Each year we provide courses that help people to keep taking steps in their journey of faith. These include our popular Foundations and Flourish courses which include not only rich teaching, but also practices and resources that enable people to live their faith in their daily lives

Retreats
Our retreat days and weekends are designed to create an extended opportunity for people to dwell in the presence of God and deepen in their understanding and relationship with him.

Prayer and Worship
St Ben’s puts a strong emphasis on providing spiritual environments which help people to encounter the love of God and be healed and transformed in Christ. One of these regular environments is our Worship Night, which we run on the first Friday of every month. Once again, these events gather people from across our city.

Small Groups
We help to facilitate a number of Small Groups in our parish, who meet both in-person and online. Small Groups are a powerful way of taking a deeper dive in our faith with others who are in a similar stage of life. They are also a wonderful context for finding connection, encouragement and support.

PLAYING OUR PART IN THE BROADER CHURCH

Awaken
St Ben’s has developed this large event as a way of inspiring and nurturing the faith of  people from parishes across Melbourne. Something powerful happens when we unite and pray together! These events currently run twice a year in a venue in the east of Melbourne.

Parish mentoring
Our staff team have received many enquiries from other parishes over the years, seeking guidance and support as they seek to work towards the renewal of their parish life and mission. We have found it a privilege to share what we have learned with other parishes, and in doing so, to help impact more lives with the love of Jesus.
